Monilola (right) is allowed to leave the conversation whenever she wants. And Malcolm (left) was directed to look for physical/verbal cues that indicate imminent departure (eg. feet pointing away, shifting legs, shorter sentences, grabbing coat, etc.) and say everything possible to keep her in the space. Channeling feelings of longing from childhood.
